Privacy notice
Last updated: date to be confirmed
The short version: MindtheGrid has no accounts, no ads, no tracking and nothing to buy. Your progress stays on your own device. I never see who you are or how you play.
Who I am
MindtheGrid is a hobby game run by name to be confirmed in the UK. Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), I’m the “controller” of the small amount of personal data described here. Contact: [email protected].
Your progress stays on your device
Your grids, scores, streaks, stats, collected stations, achievements and settings are saved in your browser’s local storage, on your device. They are never sent to me, and I can’t see them. If you clear your browser data, they’re deleted.
Backup codes
To move your progress to another device, the game can make a backup code. The code is just your progress written out as text. It’s made and read inside your browser and is never sent to me. Anyone who has your code can load your progress, so keep it to yourself.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. I only see overall totals, such as the number of visits, never individual visitors. Cloudflare may process this outside the UK, using approved safeguards.
If you email me
If you email [email protected], I receive your email address, your name if you include it, and your message. Cloudflare forwards the email to inbox provider to be confirmed. I use it only to reply to you, and I delete emails after period to be confirmed unless I need them longer to deal with a complaint.
Supporting the game on Ko-fi
The “Support me on Ko-fi” button takes you to Ko-fi’s website. The game sends nothing to Ko-fi. If you choose to give, Ko-fi handles the payment under its privacy policy and shows me details to be confirmed. I use these only to say thank you, and keep them for period to be confirmed.
Sharing your result
The share buttons open the app or site you pick with your result text: the grid number, your coloured squares and a link. Nothing is sent until you post it yourself, and from then on that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Cookies and local storage
MindtheGrid sets no cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage only for things the game needs to work: your progress and settings, and whether you’ve seen the intro. Because all of this is needed for the game you’re playing, it doesn’t need a consent banner.
What I don’t do
No accounts or passwords. No ads. No analytics or tracking. No location. I never sell or share your data.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of any personal data I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. In practice that means emails you’ve sent me. Email [email protected] and I’ll reply within one month. Your game progress is on your device, so you can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data. If you’re unhappy with my reply, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Children
Anyone can play, at any age. There’s nothing to sign up for and the game collects nothing about you, so there are no age checks. If you email me, only include what I need to help you.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, I’ll say so on the site.
